Physiotherapy at home for neurological conditions

Neurological conditions often show most at home: getting out of a chair, turning, or walking through a doorway. A physiotherapist who visits can work on those moments where they happen.

Your physiotherapist works alongside your neurologist or doctor, and does not change medication. Oreka is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 995.

How home physiotherapy can help

  • Walking and turning, and getting started when movement freezes
  • Balance, and reducing the risk of falls at home
  • Getting in and out of bed, chairs and the car
  • Exercises to keep up between visits
  • Guidance for family members and helpers

Your physiotherapist decides what is right for you after assessing you.

What a home visit involves

Each visit is 60 minutes at home, starting on the hour. At the first visit, your physiotherapist asks about your health and goals, sees how you move, and agrees a plan with you. Initial and follow-up visits cost the same.

Questions

How often are visits?

Your physiotherapist recommends how often after the first visit, and you agree the timing with them. Every visit is 60 minutes, priced by its start time.

Do you help with other neurological conditions?

Choose “Neurological care” in the enquiry and describe the condition on the call. Oreka checks that home physiotherapy suits it before arranging a physiotherapist.
