Questions about home physiotherapy with Oreka

Cost, referrals, insurance and MediSave, how Oreka checks physiotherapists, and what happens after you enquire.

How much does home physiotherapy cost with Oreka?

S$250 nett for a 60-minute visit, with nothing added at payment. Every visit costs the same, the first assessment included. Visits start on the hour, 8am to 7pm, Singapore time. See pricing.

Are there evening or overnight home visits?

No. Visits start on the hour, 8am to 7pm, Singapore time, so the last visit of the day ends at 8pm. You can still send an enquiry at any hour, and a person from Oreka replies within 24 hours.

What does a visit include?

A 60-minute visit at home by a registered physiotherapist, with assessment and treatment for that session. Your physiotherapist decides the treatment. Prices are nett: nothing is added at payment.

When do I pay?

After each visit that takes place. Sending an enquiry costs nothing. Oreka sends you a payment link on WhatsApp after each visit, and Oreka pays the physiotherapist.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No, you do not need a referral to send an enquiry. If you have a referral letter, discharge summary or scan report, it helps your physiotherapist prepare, and you can add it to the secure registration form Oreka sends you. Some insurers ask for a referral before they pay a claim, so check your policy.

Can I claim the cost from insurance?

It depends on your policy. Oreka gives you a receipt after each visit, which you can send to your insurer, but Oreka cannot promise that a claim will be paid.

Can I use MediSave or government subsidies?

Oreka is a private service: payment is by a payment link after each visit, and Oreka does not process MediSave or government subsidy claims. If cost is a concern, the Agency for Integrated Care runs a subsidised Home Therapy service for eligible Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.

How does Oreka check its physiotherapists?

Oreka offers cases only to physiotherapists whose registration with the Allied Health Professions Council, current Practising Certificate and professional indemnity it has checked, and whose identity document it has seen. The register is checked again before each case. You can look up any physiotherapist on the AHPC public register.

Which areas of Singapore do you cover?

Oreka takes enquiries for home visits anywhere in Singapore. Whether a physiotherapist can visit depends on your area and the time you need, and Oreka tells you before anything is arranged. A postal code is enough to start.

How quickly will someone reply?

A person from Oreka replies to every enquiry within 24 hours. The website takes enquiries at any hour. A reply is a person getting in touch, not yet a confirmed visit.

Who can send an enquiry?

The patient, or a family member, friend or carer on their behalf. If you enquire for someone else, Oreka checks that they know and agree before a physiotherapist is arranged. The service is for adults aged 18 and over; an enquiry about someone younger is read by a person, who may suggest a paediatric service instead.

Do I choose a physiotherapist from a list?

Oreka arranges a suitable physiotherapist for your care needs and location, who contacts you to agree a visit. You do not need to browse a directory or choose a calendar slot.

Will we have the same physiotherapist?

We aim for that throughout your agreed course of care. If the relationship does not work or a replacement is needed, Oreka coordinates a suitable replacement and handover with you.

Can I enquire after office hours?

Yes. The site accepts enquiries around the clock, and a person from Oreka replies to every enquiry within 24 hours. Your physiotherapist’s availability determines when they can visit.

What should we prepare for a first visit?

Your physiotherapist will tell you what is needed for your situation, including relevant medical information, access arrangements and whether a caregiver should be present.

Is Oreka an emergency service?

No. If someone needs urgent medical help, contact a doctor or call 995. Oreka cannot respond to emergencies.
